Experiencia fantástica: We stayed at Bucara Tours Spanish Lessons for just one week, attending Spanish classes every morning – and we made incredible progress in such a short time. It honestly surprised us how much we improved. The classes were held in very small groups, which made a huge difference. It was not only effective but also really fun and engaging. We spoke a lot during the lessons, which helped us gain confidence quickly and actually start speaking Spanish. By the end of the week, we were genuinely sad that we couldn’t stay longer. We would have loved to continue! Highly recommended for anyone who wants to learn Spanish in a fun, supportive, and effective way.

Experiencia fantástica: I spent three weeks in Bucaramanga and had taken classes with Bucara Spanish Academy. It was a great experience and I highly recommend their program. The classes were fun, structured and were challenging. The teachers there were great, friendly and professional. My Spanish improved quite a bit for the short time I was there. Bucaramanga is a very nice city and I really enjoyed my time there. ¡Es Muy Bacano!

Experiencia fantástica: I had the pleasure of getting 10 hours of Spanish lessons a week from Diego for all the 5 weeks I spent in Bucaramanga with Bucara Voluntours. My starting level was barely A2 (I think): I could understand and speak in very basic conversations in for example ordering in restaurants and tell some facts about myself. Together with doing volunteering with local people and getting Spanish lessons, I can now understand most conversations I encounter while traveling as long as I can hear the speaker well and they don't speak super fast. And also take care of myself in Spanish in most situations. As well as I can imagine learning in only 5 weeks :) Diego had a really fun and flexible approach to teaching. After the first few days, the lessons felt more like practicing a language with friends than having a teacher tell you things. Still, Diego knew well which things to concentrate on and as my skills improved, I feel like he would also start talking faster and using english less and less. Experiencia fantástica: This was such an amazing part of my trip in colombia!!! I spent a week at bucaratours, doing the full volunteer + spanish school experience. Simon, Laura and Lú are literally the SWEETEST people ever and truly make the whole experience. My spanish improved an insane amount in just single week of classes, and the volunteering experiences were some of the most profound on my whole trip!! I 100 percent reccomend Bucara Spanish Academy to everyone ever!!

Experiencia fantástica: During my stay in Bucaramanga, I had classes with Luisa and Laura. Both were extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and fun. I really enjoyed the lessons, we laughed a lot. After the first class I was able to introduce myself and have simple conversations. I’m now continuing my classes online with Laura, and it’s such a pleasure. It doesn’t feel like studying at all. I feel very comfortable and have learned a lot in a short time. Highly recommended!

Experiencia fantástica: Doing the immersive Spanish course here was the best way for me to start off my trip in Colombia. I was a little nervous for the classes but honestly they felt like a lot of fun and I truly finished off feeling much more confident in speaking and understanding Spanish! Experiencia fantástica: Hello All. I could not be happier with this school. I am an American with a desire, all my life, to KNOW the Spanish language. I didn’t engage in the volunteer program, however, I did take Spanish language classes 4-5 days per week over the course of about four months with this group. And, WOW, just WOW!!! I had a tremendous experience with Bucara Spanish. I have done immersion courses in Guadalajara, MX, Cuenca, Ecuador, Medellin, Colombia and Suchitoto, El Salvador. Here, in the beautiful city of Bucaramanga, Colombia, by far, I had my best experience. This is a wonderful organization to work with and I couldn’t have been happier with the language instruction I received. While all of the teachers here are top notch, my personal favorite is Ximena. This is a very professional group of people. I will definitely be back sometime over the next month or two to resume my studies. And, by the way, Bucaramanga is a super chill, clean, fun and safe place to learn Spanish. Thank you Simon for making this entire experience one that was smooth, efficient and above all beneficial to me. Experiencia fantástica: I took some private lessons with Bucara Spanish and had an amazing experience! The classes were fantastic, and my teacher Luisa was absolutely wonderful. We focused exactly on the topics I wanted, her explanations were very clear, and at the same time the classes were a lot of fun. I learned so much in a short time. The organization was incredibly easy and flexible — I asked on Sunday if it was possible to have classes on Monday, and it was no problem at all. Everything was smooth and well organized. Experiencia fantástica: Unvergessliches, berührendes, lebensveränderndes Erlebnis! Die Organisation durch Laura und Simon war von Anfang bis Ende hervorragend: vom Flughafentransfer über die Unterkunft bis hin zur Koordination der Freiwilligenarbeit. Die Spanischstunden waren nicht nur lehrreich, sondern auch unglaublich motivierend und amüsant. Laura und Tatiana passten den Unterricht individuell an unser Niveau an, und durch viele praktische Übungen konnte ich das Gelernte direkt im Alltag anwenden. Zudem gab es verschiedene Freizeitaktivitäten, um die wunderschöne Natur und die spannende Kultur/Geschichte von Bucaramanga kennenzulernen. Das Beste an der Erfahrung waren aber die wunderschönen Begegnungen mit besonderen Menschen, die etwas bewirken wollen. Diese Nähe zu den Menschen machte die Zeit besonders wertvoll und inspirierend. Laura & Simon sind mit dem ganzen Herzen dabei und ich bin sehr dankbar, ein Teil von deren wunderbaren Projekten sein zu dürfen! ⭐ Fazit: Perfekte Organisation, echte Begegnungen und ein tiefes, authentisches Eintauchen in die kolumbianische Kultur – absolut empfehlenswert!

Experiencia fantástica: My husband and I signed up for a week's classes at short notice. We started off learning together, but when they realised that we were at different levels and had very different learning styles, they did private lessons with us for the rest of the week! Even if it was only 5 days, I feel like a learned a lot, including some of the things I should have learned when I first started learning. Each class was well prepared and had a clear structure and goal. Hard work, but good fun!

Experiencia fantástica: I spent about a month learning Spanish, with two hours every morning. At first, I was taught by Diego and later by Laura. Both were amazing teachers. They challenged me and always focused on my needs and weaknesses. The lessons were fun, modern, and very engaging. I felt supported at every step. Their experience and energy made learning a joy. Highly recommended!

My teachers, Juan and Laura, were not only excellent instructors but also warm, engaging, and genuinely supportive throughout the learning process. Their teaching methods made every class both effective and enjoyable. The academy is in a great area, and Bucaramanga itself is a vibrant, welcoming city that’s full of charm. I highly recommend taking classes or volunteering with Bucara. They also organize memorable excursions to the beautiful surrounding countryside, as well as cooking and salsa classes—all of which made the experience even more enriching and fun.

Experiencia fantástica: I took a month of spanish classes and stayed in the hostel in Nov-Dec 2024. They were very accommodating with my requests and super friendly. Laura is such a delightful person, even if you don't take classes with her I highly recommend having some chats about spanish and/or bucaramanga with her. I took most of my classes with Ximena and they were fantastic! She explains things really well and balanced the technical subjects which I wanted to focus on with very practical and fun exercises. One of the best spanish teachers, highly recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: I visited Bucaramanga in 2024 and was fortunate to discover the wonderful team at Bucara Spanish Academy. I took several private Spanish lessons with Laura, who I thought was an outstanding teacher. We met at the hostel and we laughed a lot which helped me feel relaxed and ready to learn and practice my speaking and listening skills. I also enjoyed the content of our conversations which related to my interests in culture, history, nature, music and dancing. In summary, this was a fabulous experience for me in Colombia. I highly recommend Bucara Spanish Academy and plan to attend more classes when I return to Bucaramanga for another visit this Spring.

I felt that the classes made me feel more confident to try speaking with locals. I also felt i got a good repetition on my weaker parts of my spanish aswell as learning something new and progresing. Experiencia fantástica: I can wholeheartedly recommend this. We were in a class of 3, focusing on speaking and listening skills. One particularly memorable session started with a coffee tasting experience in the cafe, all in Spanish, followed by a cooking skills class where we learned, not just how to talk about traditional arepa making, but also how to make them. And eat them of course!

Experiencia fantástica: During my 3 weeks in Bucaramanga I took the opportunity to learn Spanish with Sharon. I really enjoyed the lessons with her in a very cozy atmosphere at Café Bajo Sombra, which didn't feel like class. Sharon gave me a very personalised programme with conversations and grammar input aimed at improving my personal Spanish skills. One day we combined Spanish lesson with cooking a typical Colombian breakfast of arepas and homemade coffee to practice conversations in a fun way. I would highly recommend it to anyone spending a few days in Bucaramanga!
