Experiencia fantástica: La escuela está en un lugar muy hermoso, en el centro histórico, y ofrece actividades muy interesantes. La zona es muy animada durante todo el día y también por la noche. Los profesores son muy amables y dinámicos, y enseñan mucho sobre la cultura y la historia colombiana.

Experiencia fantástica: Ich habe in Cartagena 4 Wochen verbracht. Das Schulpersonal sowie die Gastfamilie waren sehr herzlich und sie haben mich mit offenen Armen empfangen. Es gibt viel zu sehen in der Stadt und die Schule organisiert viele tolle Aktivitäten, um Kolumbien besser kennenzulernen. Ausserdem hat mir das Sekreteriat der Schule mit allen meinen Anliegen helfen können. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Experiencia fantástica: Pasé 3 semanas en la escuela Nueva Lengua en Cartagena y me encantó la experiencia. Aprendí mucho con mis profesoras, Susana y María José, que eran muy simpáticas. Además, me gustó mucho la ciudad de Cartagena, tiene un buen ambiente con muchos colores y mucha música. ¡Recomiendo la experiencia!

Experiencia fantástica: Tenía una buena experiencia en Nueva Lengua. Estuve tres semanas en la escuela y puedo recomendarla sin ninguna duda. Las profesoras son atentas, siempre están de buen humor y las clases consisten en una mezcla de gramática y conversación. La pasé muy bien y volvería otra vez:)

Experiencia fantástica: Fui a esta escuela de español en noviembre y me quedé allí por 2 semanas y progresé de nivel A2 a B1 y me dio más confianza cuando hable español y me permitía de ser amigos con gente que hable español. Los profes son muy amable y tienen mucho paciencia y tratamos de sumergirnos a la cultura. Todos los clases son completamente en español entonces podemos mejorar más rápido. Mis profes Susana y Nerlys estábamos fácil con las que pude hablar y sigo hablar con Susana y ella me ayuda para mejorar mi español. Los clases crean un ambiente muy tranquilo para practicar español y conocer gente nueva. Si yo pueda haber continuado aprendiendo con la escuela, lo habría hecho por que la experiencia fue emocionante. Eligiría a estudiar porque la vibra es muy tranquilo en Cartagena.

Experiencia fantástica: I had the best experience with the Nueva Lengua team in Cartagena! I spent 10 weeks over the summer studying and learning spanish with all of the wonderful teachers here, and improved my Spanish level very quickly to C1. Additionally, each of the cultural experiences provided were very fun, the dance classes with Eliana were amazing, and each week I got to meet interesting people from around the world. Each of the teachers were incredibly welcoming and patient, all of whom I now consider to be good friends, especially Anyelis, Maria Jose, Cynthia, and Eliana. If anyone was looking for a school in Cartagena to learn spanish during their travels, I would 1000% recommend Nueva Lengua in Cartagena.

Experiencia fantástica: I absolutely loved my experience taking Spanish classes at Nueva Lengua. I took private lessons for a week and I feel like I’ve improved a lot conversationally already. Part of why I think I’ve improved a lot is because the instructors only speak to you in Spanish so it forces you to improve your listening skills as well. Los profesores son muy amables, organizados y muy buenos. Aprendí muchísimo durante mis 8 semanas aquí. - Familia Anfitriona: Mi familia anfitriona fue increíble. Fueron súper hospitalarios, la comida fue excelente, y realmente disfruté conocerlos. - Nota Adicional: No hay Don Quijote en Cartagena. Recomiendo reservar a través del sitio web de Nueva Lengua y no por Don Quijote. Esto te ahorrará dinero. In English: - The School: I had a great 8 weeks at Nueva Lengua in Cartagena. The school is really cool and in a great location. The teachers are really nice, organized, and very good. I learned so much during my 8 weeks here. - Host Family: My host family was amazing. They were super hospitable, the food was great, and I really enjoyed getting to know them. - Additional Note: There is no Don Quijote in Cartagena. I recommend booking through Nueva Lengua's website and not through Don Quijote. This will save you money.

Experiencia positiva: Overall, a great school for all levels of Spanish! The school is located in Getsemani, a safe and charming neighborhood in Cartagena. There are plenty of things to do within walking distance with various opportunities to practice Spanish. I would recommend staying with either a host family or a private room with local hosts to ensure proper immersion. I stayed in a hostel where most people spoke English. The Spanish teachers were patient and enthusiastic! Their small class sizes (~6 students) allowed a fun and friendly dynamic. I would only recommend that they try to adapt their lesson plan to the unique group of students to optimize learning objectives. I started out in the Nueva Lengua in Medellín and requested to transfer to Cartagena for a change in scenery. They allowed the request but they really didn’t facilitate a smooth process at all. The different locations lacked consistency. The Cartagena location supposedly offered the same activities/events as the Medellin school but they never actually had them (i.e. local food tasting). I would recommend Nueva Lengua specifically for their engaging instructors but if you’re more serious about learning Spanish, I’d recommend checking out a few other schools that align with your goals.

Experiencia positiva: Fair review of Nueva Lengua with Residency option: I’ll begin with the school - I want to preface that as a language learning experience this really did the job. Lots of like minded people, well structured days and you’re really thrown in the deep end. I learnt masses. Not all of the teachers are particularly friendly, but most of them are lovely. I would rate the language school alone 4 or 5 out of 5. The 3 stars comes from the residency experience. I came as a solo female traveller for 3 weeks and it was not what I expected - I wish I had had more information. ———-The residency is a 30 min walk from the school. ———-The area is LOUD and not completely safe - appreciate we are in Colombia but it was problematic not being able to walk around the area in the evening for groceries etc. ——— Cartagena is so hot and there is no where to relax/ no pool at the residency. You finish school at 1 and kind of feel like you have no where to go - I ended up sneaking into local hostels to use their pools and over time this felt like a real chore ——— the rooms / quality of the experience isn’t good enough for the £. Most days for ‘breakfast’ we had cheese and 2 pancakes or mash potato and 1 hard boiled egg. Other days just a bowl of papaya and watermelon - it’s not enough, especially with the walk and then 4 hours of learning I want to add that the school were very responsive (but not friendly) to my further feedback (ie my room got cleaned once a week, not 3x a week like they say) and painted and cleaned the wall you can see in the pic from the air con water…. But on the whole i think you’d have a much better experience if you stay locally to school with a pool etc - I know better options exist for a similar price that will make your experience better :) Just want to be honest so that no other people (especially quite nervous women on their own) didn’t feel quite as in the lurch as I did. As I said, I got used to it, and learnt masses! But wouldn’t recommend.

Experiencia fantástica: Excellente expérience de trois semaines à Nueva lengua, Carthagène! Le personnel est sympa, les cours sont bien structurés. Faut étudier, par contre. Ne vous attendez pas à des petites leçons légères ;). Merci chaleureux à Ana Maria, Daliz et tous les autres profs. Il y a des gens d'un peu partout dans le monde et de tous les âges qui fréquentent l'école. Je recommande.

Experiencia fantástica: I spent 5 days learning at this terrific language school, and wish I could have stayed longer! The environment is very welcoming and encouraging. The teaching by Jairo and Eduardo was well structured and very immersive. I felt like I really improved in just a few days! Also loved the dance lessons with Diego and cooking lesson!

Experiencia fantástica: I spent four weeks studying with Nueva Lengua in Cartagena and I can’t recommend it enough!!! The classes were incredible and the teachers really gave individual attention to each student’s needs. I am so grateful and impressed with the amount of Spanish I learned. I also took the dancing classes for two weeks and learned salsa, bachata, merengue, and even a little champeta! Cartagena itself is a lovely city and the school is located in such a charming neighborhood. I wish I could’ve stayed longer but maybe I’ll just have to come back another time :)

Experiencia fantástica: Die Nueva Lengua ist ein super Ort um kurz oder lang spanisch zu üben! Es ist ein sehr familiärer Umgang, die Lehrerinnen sind alle motiviert und gut ausgebildet und allgemein wird auf einen respektvollen Umgang geachtet. Es wird nur auf spanisch kommuniziert, was für Anfänger nicht immer einfach ist, aber dadurch zwingt man sich die Sprache zu üben! Zudem gibt es die Möglichkeit fast jeden Tag an außerschulischen Aktivitäten teilzunehmen (Tanzschule, Ausflüge, Kultur, Kulinarik, etc). Top Erfahrung und kann es nur weiter empfehlen :)

Experiencia fantástica: Nueva Lengua is een uitstekende school gelegen in het historische centrum van Cartagena. De locatie is perfect, met diverse restaurants, bars en een winkelcentrum in de buurt. Bovendien organiseert de school gedurende de week verschillende activiteiten om de studenten vertrouwd te maken met de stad en haar cultuur. Mijn verblijf van twee weken was onvergetelijk. Voor een complete ervaring verbleef ik in een gastgezin, wat ik ten zeerste kan aanbevelen. Het was een geweldige ervaring; ze lieten me thuis voelen, waren zeer gastvrij en hielden hun huis brandschoon. Wat betreft de lessen, kan ik zeggen dat ze van uitstekende kwaliteit waren. De deskundigheid en toewijding van de docenten maakten mijn leerervaring zeer waardevol. Daarom kan ik deze school ten zeerste aanbevelen aan iedereen die overweegt hier een cursus te volgen. Ik wil alle docenten hartelijk bedanken voor hun bijdrage aan deze fantastische tijd.

The staff and other students were very friendly, it was small enough to make it easy to meet and talk with other students, and my teacher, Kevin, was kind, patient, and was able to help us learn so much. He was able to quickly figure out what we needed to know to help us learn and made us all feel comfortable!

Experiencia fantástica: Today is my last day of two wonderful weeks at Nueva Lengua Cartagena and I am so sad to be leaving already. I have studied at various Spanish schools in a number of countries, and Nueva Lengua has without a doubt been my best experience. Not only is the quality of instruction excellent, they offer daily additional cultural experiences to all students including dance lessons, cooking classes, food and culture tours, and more. More than anything, the teachers and staff foster welcoming and fun environment that I think facilitates learning all the better. I highly recommend Nueva Lengua to anyone considering it! Experiencia fantástica: Dreams came true for me when I committed to study Spanish for 1 month at Nueva Lengua in Cartagena. As a retired professional, I was able to focus on learning Spanish and enjoying Hispanic culture in a safe, well-organized, environment. The teachers are passionate, and made learning fun. Experiencia fantástica: Seit 5 Wochen besuche ich die Intensivklasse an der Nueva Lengua Cartagena. Schon nach einer Woche verbesserte sich mein spanisch merklich. Die Lehrer sind ohne Ausnahme sehr kompetent und geduldig. Das lernen hier macht wirklich Freude und die Fortschritte nach kurzer Zeit sind gewaltig. Experiencia fantástica: I stayed two weeks in Nueva Lengua, in Cartagena. I really enjoyed the school and class, I learned a lot and improved my Spanish skills. Eventhough I knew the basics in Spanish before, I didn’t feel comfortable talking in Spanish, but after two weeks I really enjoyed talking and having conversations with the locals. My teacher Kevin was very kind, helpful and the exercises he gave us to learn the grammar and conversation had been very good to improve my skills! Everything was very organized and whenever I had a problem, the school helped me out, they also offer great activities and dancing classes after school. I can totally recommend Nueva lengua, no matter if someone just wants to learn the basics or wants to attend for a longer time. What I also liked was the mix of students. We had a lot of students from all Over the world and all ages which I really enjoyed. Thank you to my teachers and the coordination for making my stay in Cartagena unforgettable!

Experiencia fantástica: The teachers here were wonderful, they are all very informative and kind individuals that want the best for you when it comes to learning Spanish. The classes are organized and explained in great detail which was very helpful as some topics were very confusing for me. The games played, and conversations that I had during the communication hour really helped improve my ability to speak Spanish. The private dance classes were wonderful too, I loved dancing and learning new moves in small groups with others and improving my salsa skills as well as learning champeta for the first time too! Also not exactly part of the school but Mojito Miercoles is fun too

Der Unterricht ist locker gestaltet und die Lehrpersonen bringen immer eine angehneme Stimmung ins Klassenzimmer. Das Unterrichtsmaterial ist gut auf das jeweilige Niveau angepasst. Die vielen Aktivitäten wie Tanzen und Kochen erzeugen eine familiäre Atmosphäre. Ich kann die Schule wirklich sehr empfehlen.

Experiencia fantástica: My first language school experience, and what a great one! A very well organised school. The teachers are very good, friendly and extremely helpful and patient. The classes are structured well, cover lots of material and a lot of progress can be made in even a short time. Be prepared to dive straight into the Spanish language from day one and feel challenged, no matter what level you are. They also have activities in the afternoons and weekends you can do with other students. It’s an ideal way to meet people and gives a sense of community in a new place. I would highly recommend Nueva Lengua Cartegena.

Experiencia fantástica: AMAZING SCHOOL! I have been studying Spanish at Nueva Lengua for 4 week and my Spanish has improved immensely. The teachers and the classes are really fun. It’s incredible how fast you can learn. The environment at the school is super welcoming and the daily activities are great! Special shout out to Gabriela and Kevin who are both such amazing and paciente teachers. They have helped me improve so much!

Experiencia fantástica: I'm currently enrolled here (basic 1A) and am really learning a lot. there's just no substitute for real in person learning. Classes cover a lot of ground but are well thought out, so everything makes sense. Great mix of grammar, real- life vocabulary and conversation. The teachers are friendly, patient and engaging. The school is located in a very tourist-heavy area and there is a lot to see and do right there, and it is quite safe as well. I'm very pleased with my experience here. Tip: if you are able to book a stay with a host family you'll learn even faster-- I wasn't able to do so (I was kind of last minute) but my classmates who did have good things to say about it.

Gabby made class fun and she was so patient with me as a beginner and also took the time to correct and help me with my pronunciation, which is where I need a lot of work! She is so kind and cares about her students. I highly recommend Nueva Lengua! They are highly skilled and professional, while still providing a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere for learning.

Experiencia fantástica: I took Spanish lessons at Nueva Lengua Cartagena (NLC) last November '23 for a month and haven't regretted it. I am now in Bogota after having spent 2-1/2 months so far in Colombia. I use the Spanish that I learned at NLC beyond measure. Prior to enrolling in classes I had very little background in Spanish other than a junior high school teacher who taught an after-school interest program in it. NLC has very committed teachers who try their best to make learning the Spanish language easy, interesting, and fun! I suggest taking both the language learning and conversation part of the class offerings. First off, the language learning teaches you the basic such as grammar and vocabulary. The conversation part helps put your learning into practice. There are different teachers for both parts. They use all kinds of techniques and approaches to get the best out of you. Although my head was swimming after 4 hours of instruction and 1 hour of conversation each day for a month it was well worth the intense effort. I came away with a good understanding of basic Spanish that has helped me navigate my way through Medellin, Cali, and now Bogota. In addition, the optional after-school activities helps you feel part of a community and gives you a better sense of the culture in Cartagena and Latin America in general. You also get a chance to meet a lot of really cool and interesting people from around the world. I recommend Nueva Lengua without hesitation.

Experiencia fantástica: I got approved my vacation last minute and was looking for a fun, unique and educational experience, which I found at Nueva Lengua! I contacted them suuuuper last minute, and they were so kind and accommodating! I had the best time with my classmates...the students were so interesting and from all over the world. Additionally Nueva Lengua held different activities each day. Last, but certainly not least, the teachers were also wonderful!! Muchas, muchas gracias Ana Maria, Gabriella, Paula y Angelis!!! Experiencia fantástica: J’ai passé 3 semaines dans cette école et j’ai adoré ! J’ai eu trois profs différents, un par semaine , tous aussi gentils, respectueux et attentifs . Ils répondaient à toutes nos questions et étaient très patients envers, ces trois semaines ont été très utiles car jai appris beaucoup d’expressions colombiennes et jai révise toutes mes conjugaisons , merci à l’école pour ça ! Experiencia fantástica: Incrível!!! Nunca imaginei ter uma família em Cartagena. Sim! É uma família, além de métodos dinâmicos e comunicações diversas, aprendemos com mais leveza. As aulas extras classe fazem toda a diferença pois vivenciamos a cultura de uma maneira intensa e divertida. Estou há 2 meses é já organizo meu próximo intercâmbio com a escola.

Experiencia fantástica: Passei 1 mês na escola Nueva Lengua, a minha experiência foi excelente, além de aprender o espanhol tive contato com pessoas de várias nacionalidades e culturas. Os professores são maravilhosos, em especial as professoras Anyelis e Dalys. Além das aulas, realizamos passeios pela cidade, museus, praia, que contribuiu para que tivéssemos uma experiência completa. Recomendo 100%.

Experiencia fantástica: Eine wirkliche tolle Schule. Die Professoren sind unfassbar freundlich und hilfsbereit. Sie erzeugen eine Atmosphäre wie in einer kleinen Familie. Darüber hinaus werden verschiedene Freizeitaktivitäten am Nachmittag angeboten, die sowohl mit Cartagena zu tun haben als auch super spaßig sind. Selbst wenn man mal krank wird oder aus anderen Gründen nicht teilnehmen kann, reagiert die Administration flexibel und schafft Möglichkeiten.

Os professores são ótimos e muito próximos dos alunos, sempre dispostos a tirar dúvidas sobre o espanhol e a cidade. Cartagena também é um local muito interessante de se conhecer.

Experiencia fantástica: Tym, ktorzy chcieliby pracowac nad swoim hiszpańskim bardzo polecam znakomitą szkołę Nueva Lengua - Cartagena. Znakomici nauczyciele, superatmosfera, oprocz zajęć językowych na wysokim poziomie merytorycznym, bardzo ciekawy kalendarz aktywności kulturalnych popołudniowych. Przy okazji dowiecie się sporo o kulturze i historii Kolumbii.

Experiencia fantástica: Im November 2023 besuchte ich für zwei Wochen die Sprachschule "NuevoLingua" in Cartagena. Davon bin ich begeistert. Zunächst einmal hat die Schule einen besonderen Charme, der durch ihre Lage im coolsten Viertel von Cartagena, in Getsemani, bestätigt wird. Die Schule wirkt auf mich improvisiert im besten Sinne des Wortes, sowie sehr, sehr professionell. Die Zimmer haben den Charme eines Studentenwohnheims, aber mit einem Pool. Meine Lehrerinnen (Caroline und Anna-Maria) wirkten sehr professionell. Aber auch die Sekretärin und Haushälterinnen sind genauso engagiert, und soweit ich es beurteilen kann, fachlich erstklassig. Gleichzeitig haben mir Carolin und Anna-Maria schnell das Gefühl gegeben, Teil des Ganzen zu sein. Es war alles sehr einfach. In der ersten Woche äußerte ich den Wunsch, etwas langsamer zu sprechen und mehr einzelne Wörter zu übersetzen. Beide reagierten sofort und nachhaltig. Insgesamt war es eine einfache, aber intensive Lernerfahrung. Vielen Dank für die wundervollen zwei Wochen.

Experiencia fantástica: Meine Woche Sprachunterricht in Nueva Lengua hat mir sehr gefallen. Wir waren eine internationale Gruppe mit 6 Personen. Die ersten 3 Stunden gab es einen strukturierten Unterricht und in der letzten Stunde diskutieren wir auf spanisch unterschiedliche Themen des Lebens. Die Lehrerinnen motivierten uns sehr zum freien sprechen und schafften einen vertrauensvollen Raum. Ergänzt wurde das ganze durch eine lustige Koch Klasse am Nachmittag. Die Atmosphäre in der Schule wirkte auf mich sehr herzlich und familiär. Mein einziger Kritikpunkt ist das erste, kurze Gespräch zur Einstufung des Niveaus. Es erschien mir eher unausgereift und ich würde zwei Stufen zu niedrig eingeschätzt; konnte dann zwar problemlos wechseln, " verlor" dadurch aber einen ganzen Unterrichtstag.

Experiencia fantástica: I would highly recommend this school to any who are considering it. The teachers are very knowledgeable and patient, and anyone can learn very quickly if they put the work in. The school is in a beautiful part of the city and there are a lot of opportunities to learn about the culture and the city of Cartagena through the schools evening activities.

Experiencia fantástica: i've been trying to learn spanish for years, but always thought in-person language school would be too expensive. i was wrong! i loved my experience at nueva lengua, and between the small group classes and the daily free activities, it's beyond worth it. i studied for 2 weeks and the time flew by. cartagena is the perfect place to slow down, meet new people, enjoy colombian culture (and parties) and study spanish with the awesome group of teachers at the school. i couldn't recommend this school enough!

There is a great mix of learning styles including conversation, cultural activities, and yes, GRAMMAR. Don't worry though. You'll be proud of what that you have learned.

Experiencia fantástica: Die Schule ist sehr gut geeignet sowohl für Leute die Cartagena erleben wollen und nebenbei ihr spanisch verbessern möchten, als auch für Leute die ernsthaften Fortschritt machen wollen. Ich gehöre zur zweiten Kategorie und habe daher neben den Gruppen Stunden noch Einzel Unterricht genommen. Ich empfehle es jedem der in kürzerer Zeit ernsthaft Fortschritt machen will, da die Gruppen Stunden eher auf ein durchschnittlicheres Tempo ausgelegt sind. Mir hat jedoch beides sehr gut gefallen, die Gruppen Stunden als interaktive Übung waren nicht nur strikt auf Grammatik ausgelegt sondern die Lehrer haben auch ein Gesprächsthema unterstützt wenn es aufkam. Die einzelstunden waren trotz der erhöhten Intensität erfrischend und enthusiastisch gestaltet. Die Lehrer sind alle recht jung, was jedoch ein Vorteil ist wenn es darum geht den Unterricht nicht langweilig werden zu lassen. Privatstunden kann man hauptsächlich nur nachmittags machen, was nicht perfekt aber nachvollziehbar ist. Dennoch hatte ich als ehrgeiziger Schüler eine sehr gute Zeit. Falls ihr keine Privatstunden nehmen wollt, umso besser, das ist eure Schule. Ein super nettes Umfeld, extrem offene und interessierte Lehrer und sehr spannende nachmittagssktivitäten sowie eine perfekte Lage.

Experiencia fantástica: Absolut empfehlenswert! Ich habe Nueva Lengua für drei Wochen besucht und hatte hier eine fantastische Zeit! Die Sprachkurse sind gut organisiert und die Lehrer nicht nur sehr sympathisch sondern auch kompetent! Sie konnten uns neben der spanischen Grammatik auch viel über den Alltag in Kolumbien erzählen. Es gibt viele verschiedene Klassen für jedes Level. Auch die kostenlosen Aktivitäten am Nachmittag habe ich genossen, auch eine tolle Gelegenheit um die anderen Studenten kennenzulernen! Vielen Dank an das tolle Team von nueva lengua, ich kann die Schule jedem nur wärmstens empfehlen und komme bestimmt wieder!

Experiencia fantástica: Love this school. All the staff and teachers are professional and super friendly. They helped me when I first arrived in Cartagena. My hotel had messed up my reservation. Joaquin who works at the school was very kind and helped me find a new place to stay. He walked with me to the new location and helped me take my suitcases there. During my 2.5 weeks at the school all the teachers I had were brilliant. Kevin in particular went out of his way to help me understand more and I am very grateful. The classes and activities the school offer in the afternoons are also excellent. Highly recommend. Thank you all for such a great experience. I will come back for sure. Carla

Experiencia fantástica: Ich war für drei Wochen in der Sprachschule und habe dort super Erfahrungen gemacht! Die Lehrer*innen (und ein besonderer Dank geht an meine Vormittagslehrerin Paula) sind total nett, sehr empathisch und gehen individuell auf das jeweilige Sprachniveau ein. Im Unterricht wurde viel mit Spielen, aber auch Arbeitsblättern und Gesprächsrunden gearbeitet, was für mich persönlich genau die richtige Art war zu lernen, sodass ich mich mittlerweile viel sicherer in der Sprache fühle als zu Beginn! Und auch nachmittags gibt es super viele Angebote (Kochkurs, Tanzkurs, Fahrradtour,…) zum Sprache und Kultur kennenlernen! Ich würde die Srpachschule wärmsten weiterempfehlen, wenn du Lust hast dir eine gute Grundlage in Spanisch aufzubauen oder dies wieder aufzufrischen, neue Menschen kennenzulernen und auch abseits des Sprachunterrichts die Stadt zu erkunden:)

Experiencia fantástica: I had the most wonderful time at Nueva Lengua Cartagena! The staff is so kind and all of the teachers are amazing. I learned so much in my classes and enjoyed the cultural activities like cooking and Latin dance classes so much! I have studied at other Spanish schools in Guatemala, Mexico, and Spain and I would highly recommend this school to anyone who wants to learn a lot very quickly and have a ton of fun while doing it!

Experiencia fantástica: Wow, not even sure where to start, this experience was beyond expectations. I have done language schools in other countries and this was by far the best school I have attended. I originally picked Nueva Lengua because I was arriving in Cartagena without knowing anyone & I thought the daily activities would be a great way to experience more of the culture and meet people and they absolutely were! Beach days, cooking classes, dance classes, trying Colombian food, all the activities were a blast! I also loved the teaching style of the school. I feel they divided students up appropriately, I had 4 people in my class most of the time and the classes were 3 hours of learning with one professor and then an hour of conversation practice with another professor. I had Paola for the first part & Gabriella for the conversation and both were amazing! Both were very engaging and brought fun games & activities that made the four hours of class effective and not drag on. The location of the school is prime, right near the main plaza with lots of restaurants and beautiful streets. Bonus tip: at night the school street turns into a hopping outdoor bar street. I recommend meeting up with classmates there to celebrate Mojito Miércoles . This part will probably vary for you but the other people at the school when I was there for the two weeks were amazing! Besides doing classes and the activities together, most of us got lunch together, met up for dinner and drinks, and even setup a boating adventure. Long story short, I found the school to be super affordable, well structured with great professors, and encouraging of a social culture with lots of fun free activities. I cannot recommend this school enough & wish I had more than two weeks there.

Experiencia fantástica: Geplant hatte ich ursprünglich zwei Wochen in der Sprachschule in Cartagena. Nachdem ich mich jedoch bereits in der ersten Woche wie zu Hause gefühlt habe, habe ich spontan und ganz unkompliziert um eine Woche verlängert. Die drei Wochen in Cartagena waren für mich wirklich besonders und haben meine Erwartungen auf jeder Ebene übertroffen. Die Schule ist wie ein kleines zu Hause und die Schüler*innen und Professor*innen wie eine Familie. Nach einem kurzen Interview mit Paula, wurde ich in ein für mich perfektes Niveau eingestuft. Neben einem sehr gut strukturieren Unterricht, bietet die Schule auch einige Aktivitäten an den Nachmittagen an. Nach drei Wochen Spanischunterricht und Tanzstunden konnte ich nicht nur meine sprachskills deutlich verbessern, sondern habe ich auch meine Liebe zu Bachata entdeckt. Jedem, jeder der/die noch hadert kann ich nur sagen: ich würde mich jedes mal wieder für Nueva Lengua und Cartagena entscheiden.

N’ayant jamais étudié l’espagnol, je voulais apprendre les bases dans le cadre d’un voyage de 6 mois en Amérique du Sud. J’ai vécu une formidable expérience : les cours sont très bien faits et ludiques, les professeurs sont très gentils (ainsi que tout le personnel de l’école) et pédagogues et les activités organisées l’après-midi permettent de rencontrer facilement d’autres étudiants. ++ l’école permet la mise en relation avec une famille d’accueil, qui facilite nettement l’apprentissage de la langue ! Je n’oublierai jamais ma famille colombienne Marqueza et Pedro.

Experiencia fantástica: Ich war zwei Wochen in der Sprachschule und hatte eine richtig gute Zeit. Das war für mich eine super Gelegenheit mein Spanisch nach drei Jahren Pause wieder aufzufrischen. Das Lehrerteam macht einen super Job und vermittelt sehr verständlich Grammatik, kulturelles Wissen und Vokabeln, die man dann direkt in seiner Freizeit in Cartagena anwenden kann. Auch eigene Wünsche und Anregungen für den Unterricht werden gerne aufgenommen. In zwei Wochen Spanischkurs habe ich wieder einen großen Sprung nach vorne gemacht. Jeden Nachmittag findet eine (optionale) Gruppenaktivität statt (z.B Kochkurs, Tanzkurs, Ausflug zum Strand, Nachmittag mit regionalen/kolumbianischen Spielen, Kino) und man knüpft gleich viele tolle Kontakte, für gemeinsame Unternehmungen in der Freizeit. Ich hatte eine super Zeit hier und kann Nueva Lengua wärmstens weiterempfehlen.

They were super professional and organized. In the class, we had many opportunities practicing speaking spanish. The teachers, staff members and even classmates are super friendly. Also I loved the culture activities: cooking classes, dancing, painting, fruits tasting etc. If you want to have immersive experience and have fun at the same time, this is the best place!

Experiencia fantástica: I attended Nueva Lengua for a week in September. Their teaching style is organized, compassionate, encouraging and effective. The afternoon activities were fun and it was easy to get to know the other students. I also added on the dancing and that was a blast. My home stay was amazing. Senora Elvira made every meal delicious and healthy. She also spent a lot of time chatting with me and helping me get around. I requested a private bath and stayed on her top floor which had a lovely terrace in a gated community. I took a taxi to school which was 2-3 dollars. The school is located in Getsumaní, a festive old town next to the historic Centro. Special thanks to my teachers Mayra and Paula who teach with loving kindness and my home host Elvira that made me feel so welcome and part of the family. Highly recommend this experience.

Experiencia fantástica: In der Sprachschule Nueva Lengua in Cartagena fühlte ich mich vom ersten Tag an wie in einer großen Familie! Die Lehrer und das gesamte Personal sind sehr nett und ungezwungen und die Spanischstunden machen deshalb richtig viel Spaß! Der Unterricht ist gut strukturiert und abwechslungsreich, so dass ich in nur einer Woche richtig viel dazulernen konnte. Im Unterricht wird nur spanisch gesprochen, aber die Lehrer achten sehr darauf, dass auch wirklich alle mitkommen. Am Nachmittag werden interessante Freizeitaktivitäten angeboten wie Tanz- oder Kochkurse, kulturelle Events oder auch Sport. Nach einer Woche möchte man eigentlich gar nicht mehr weg ... Ich kann die Schule ohne Einschränkungen empfehlen!

Experiencia fantástica: Ich habe eine Woche Sprachkurs bei Nueva Lengua in Cartagena gemacht und bin vollkommen zufrieden! Die Schule ist Mitten in Getsemani, die Atmosphäre in der Schule war super. Ich habe dort einen Intensivkurs für eine Woche gemacht und habe sehr viel gelernt. Besonders gefallen hat mir, dass man morgens 3 Stunden Theorie hatte und dann eine Stunde praktische Übungen um alltägliches Kommunizieren zu verbessern. Ich würde diese Schule in Zukunft immer wieder wählen. Alle Lehrer waren super kompetent und konnten den Inhalt sehr gut vermitteln, es war einfach insgesamt eine super Erfahrung!

Experiencia fantástica: Meu nome é Nétali, sou brasileira e gosto muito de estudar idiomas. Minha experiência de estudo mais recente foi em junho de 2023 na escola Nueva Lengua, em Cartagena (Colômbia). Foi um mês incrível em que, além de aprender muito sobre a cultura colombiana, melhorei muito meu nível de espanhol. Como estudante adulta (tenho 47 anos), pensei que teria mais dificuldades do que os alunos mais jovens. Porém, fui bem acolhida pelos professores que me deram todo o apoio durante as quatro semanas que durou o curso. Toda a equipe da escola é muito atenciosa e tive os melhores professores. Destaco o professor Kevin, com quem tive mais aulas: foram duas semanas em que desenvolvi a escrita, a compreensão auditiva e, sobretudo, a conversação em espanhol. Em pouco tempo aprendi muito, conheci ótimas pessoas e voltei para o meu país com a certeza de que ainda farei outros cursos na Nueva Lengua. Obrigada a todos.

Experiencia fantástica: Sehr gute Schule, um in allen Level Spanisch zu lernen, von einer Woche bis 12 Wochen. Sehr nette Lehrer:innen, tolle kostenlose Aktivitäten am Nachmittag, zum Beispiel Tanzkurs, Kochkurs, Spiele spielen mit Einheimischen treffen. War eine Woche hier und würde es jederzeit wieder machen!

Beyond great teaching and attentive instructors, the school also has numerous cultural activities that are included free of charge every day. Everyone on the staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The school is well organized and serves as an excellent resource for navigating your experience in Cartagena and making the most of your time. Highly recommend to anyone!

Experiencia fantástica: I’m having a wonderful time at Nueva Lengua in Cartagena! My teachers Paula and Mayra are both excellent, and each brings a different energy to our small class. I’m also staying at the school, for which I feel immensely grateful. Think about it, I can pretty much roll out of bed into class, we have two roof terraces to enjoy, and there’s a pool here! Perhaps more importantly though, I can feel my level of Spanish improving tangibly. Speaking comes much easier already after just one week, and my confidence is higher than ever. Muchas gracias!

Experiencia fantástica: Ich habe in der Nueva Lengua Sprachschule einen Intensivkurs für 7 Wochen belegt. Durch ein Vorgespräch wurde eine Einteilung in das Sprachniveau vorgenommen. Die Lehrer und Lehrerinnen sind sehr nett und nehmen sich die Zeit Unklarheiten ausführlich zu erläutern. Nachdem Nueva Lengua noch eine Zweigstelle in Medellin und Bogotá hat, ermöglicht die Schule auch einen Wechsel in eine andere Stadt, wenn dies erwünscht ist. So kann man zum einen andere Ecken Kolumbiens kennenlernen und sich so auch mit den anderen Akzenten im Land vertraut machen.

Experiencia fantástica: I took 2 weeks of Spanish here. I did not know any Spanish (only knew “hola” in Spanish when I first got there). I had Professor Cynthia for one week. She was super nice, patient and professional. She helped me a lot with my spanish. I also had a lot of fun while learning Spanish. I may continue studying Spanish by taking online classes with them. Highly recommend this school if you are around in Cartagena.

Experiencia fantástica: Für 3 Wochen habe ich Nueva Lengua Cartagena besucht und ich würde es jederzeit wieder tun. Die Profs sind unheimlich motiviert und der Unterricht hat einen roten Faden. Der Unterricht ist aufgeteilt in 3h Grammatik/Lesen-Verstehen sowie 1h Konversation. Es werden verschiedene Spiele gemacht um das Vokabular sowie das Sprechen zu entwickeln (Tabu, Activity), was mir mit am meisten Spaß gemacht hat. Die Schule selbst verfügt über klimatisierte Räume. Die Klassen schwanken von 1 bis 7 Studenten, je nach Level und Saison. Neben der Schule an Vormittag gibt es jeden Mittag eine Freizeit Aktivität in der Schule (Kochen, Tanzen, Asado) oder im Umfeld (Museum; Tour mit verschiedenen lokalen Essen, Getränken, Früchten und Süssigkeiten). Diese Aktivitäten sind optimal und kostenfrei. Aber perfekt um mit den anderen Studenten ins Gespräch zu kommen. Würde ich wieder nach Cartagena wegen der Stadt kommen? Eher nicht Würde ich wieder zu Nueva Lengua in Cartagena? Na klar Danke an alle von Nueva Lengua allen voran meinen Lehrern Paula, Mayra, Kevin und den 2 lieben Damen, die uns immer wieder mit kleinen lokalen Leckereien überrascht haben sowie die Kochkurse geleitet haben.

Experiencia fantástica: Eine Woche habe ich den Intensivkurs besucht im Gruppenunterricht und in der Woche darauf einige Lektionen Einzelunterricht genommen. Die Lehrer sind alle sehr sympathisch und gestalten den Unterricht abwechslungsreich. Die freiwilligen Aktivitäten am Nachmittag, z.B. kochen, sind sehr interessant und machen Spass. Ich kann die Nueva Lengua wärmstens weiterempfehlen. Dazu kommt unser Aufenthalt in der Gastfamilie, danke an Elvira; wohl eine der besten Köchinnen in Cartagena sie hat uns alles langsam und verständlich erklärt.

Experiencia fantástica: Been at the Cartagena school for 3 weeks and was taught Grammer by Kevin. He always pushed us in class to help improve our pronunciation. He gave us great explanations to ensure the grammatical concepts were understood before moving on. He lessons were also great for sharing history about the country, very engaging and great use of the laptop to share images videos and interactive class exercises which made for a more enjoyable learning experience. I had Gabby and Paula for conversation both made this time very fun with plenty of games and would always ensure to incorporate new learning. Experiencia fantástica: Mis clases en línea con Nueva Lengua fueron geniales. El contenido era específico para lo que necesitaba. Aprendí mucho en poco tiempo y mi profesor fue muy flexible para encontrar fechas juntos para las clases a pesar de la diferencia horaria. El contenido se explicaba muy claro y las tareas eran muy útiles para aprender y comprender la gramática. En cualquier caso recomiendo esta escuela!

Experiencia fantástica: I absolutely loved my time at Nueva Lengua. I came in knowing some Spanish, but my confidence in speaking was not high. After just a few days in the program I felt way better speaking the language and way more confident testing out newly learned grammar. The structure and the profs are really encouraging and help you learn a lot. I was there for a month. I think you need at least a month if not longer in the program to really adjust though. The time is well worth it and the cost is great. The afternoon additions are also a ton of fun and a great way to learn a bit about Cartagena. All in all, I can’t wait to return!

Experiencia fantástica: Really amazing language school. I was lucky enough to have 1-1 lessons with Ana María who was an incredible and dedicated teacher, explained everything so clearly, provided great learning resources, and was open to teaching me both the syllabus and also the other topics I requested to learn. I have improved so much in just 2 weeks and will try to return here one day. The school is based in a perfect location close to supermarkets and activities, in the centre of Cartagena. They host really good extra activities as well and the accommodation is nice with a pool.

Experiencia fantástica: Ich habe einen einwöchigen Anfängerkurs in einer kleinen Gruppe gemacht und war sehr zufrieden. Die Schule bietet außerdem einige kostenlose Aktivitäten nach dem Unterricht an. Zum Beispiel einen Koch oder Tanzkurs. Die Schule befindet sich zentral in Getsemani und hat sogar einen kleinen Pool. Die Lehrerinnen sind sehr geduldig und freundlich.

Experiencia fantástica: Estive por 4 semanas estudando espanhol e fazendo turismo em Cartagena e escolhi a escola Nueva Lengua para ajudar-me a desenvolver minha comunicação. Fico muito feliz pela escolha e pelos resultados. Os professores são muito simpáticos, o clima é descontraído e a infraestrutura é boa. Além disso, existe uma série de atividades culturais e passeios que lhe ajudaram a conhecer melhor a cultura local e a se conectar com outros alunos de diferentes partes do mundo. Se você procura uma escola de idiomas que vai te ajudar a sentir-se mais confortável e acolhido na cidade durante sua estadia, este é o lugar certo!

Experiencia fantástica: NL is Cartagena is a great place to learn Spanish. I had 2 excellent teachers, Carolina and Paula, who focused on creating a good grammatical understanding and pushed for lots of speaking practice during class. They use a mix of games, activities and written work to consolidate the lessons. The group activities in the afternoon were a great way to meet more students in school, and there was a good social scene.

Experiencia fantástica: J'ai pris deux semaines de cours à Nueva Lengua, une semaine à Medellin et une à Carthagène. Les professeurs sont très sympa et les cours sont dynamiques et amusants. Mon espagnol s'est bien amélioré en seulement deux semaines, j'ai appris beaucoup de choses. Il y a aussi des activités très sympas proposées par l'école tous les jours. Je recommande. Farah

Experiencia fantástica: I loved the Nueva Lengua Spanish School located in Cartegena. The teachers are fantastic and if you come, pray that you get Carolina! She's the best. Buena suerte! You get lunch your first day and there are snacks now and then throughout the week. All the weekly activities are free (not so in Medellín), but the best activity is Isla Rosario where you visit an island paradise for a day (this costs 250.000 pesos which sounds like a lot until you realize it's $45) Cartegena is beautiful and a wonderful place to practice your Spanish. The school, teachers, etc. speak 100% in Spanish to best immerse you and teach you the language. Unfortunately some students like to speak Ingles, but try not to fall into that trap if you're serious and committed to learning the language. If you're in Cartegena and want a homestay, I recommend Nelly. If you're in Medellín, I recommend Angela. You probably don't get the choice, but they're great. Uma Cantina, Celele, and Oh La La are three highly recommended restaurants, but there are plenty (La Pampa in Medellín) fantastic places. Joaquin in the office is fantastic and friendly. He helped me a lot with various things so don't hesitate to bother this busy but friendly man. If you can, visit the island aquarium and swim with dolphins. If you can't, you've still chosen Nueva Lengua en Cartegena to learn Spanish which is possibly the best school in Colombia!

Experiencia fantástica: I loved my time at NL!!! I felt so welcome and encouraged while learning Spanish. Each day‘s activities were unique, and all of the professors are incredible. It was obvious they love what they do and I made huge progress in a little time because they put in 110% every day! Special thank you to my professor Gaby, who made the last couple weeks of my trip so happy and fun. Her energy and effort towards our learning were great motivators. I will miss my time here!!

Experiencia fantástica: Me chamo Telma Carvalho e estive na Nueva Lengua de Cartagena das Índias por duas semanas. Amei a experiência. A escola é excelente. Os professores são simpáticos e as aulas são dinâmicas e divertidas. As atividades extracurriculares propostas são excelentes e ajudam na integração dos alunos. E, para arrematar, a cidade de Cartagena é linda com diversas opções de passeios. Recomendo.

Experiencia fantástica: Minha experiência na escola Nueva Lengua foi muito positiva tanto na educação do espanhol, com os professores Carolina e Kevin, que explicaram muito bem e que foi boa e me fez avançar no idioma, quanto nas atividades extracurriculares que foram incríveis e muito divertidas e tanto no aspecto social, já que há muitas pessoas de todos os países muito amáveis. Recomendaria essa experiência para qualquer um, ainda mais na Colômbia que é um país lindo.

Experiencia fantástica: Estudei por três semana na Nueva Lengua e eu não poderia ter feito melhor escolha. Os professores são super bem preparados e as aulas muito dinâmicas. Escolhi a hospedagem na própria escola e os quartos são simples, porém muito limpos. Ponto alto dessa experiência foi o café da manhã preparado com muito carinho pelas cozinheiras da escola: Yenis e Marcela! <3 A estrutura da escola é pequena mas super bem conservada, e comporta super bem o número de alunos. Destaque para o terraço que pode ser utilizado e que tem uma vista muito legal da cidade. Eu voltaria mil vezes!

Experiencia fantástica: Estudei por 4 semanas na Escola Nueva Lengua em Cartagena- Colômbia. Escola bem organizada, com professores muito bons, as turmas possuem no máximo 3 a 5 alunos o que faz que você esteja bem exposto a fala, temos aula de conversação e gramática . Todos os dias tem programação de passeios ou eventos organizados pela escola para que as turmas possam interagir e até mesmo experimentar outras formas de aprendizado ! Quero voltar para estudar novamente lá !

Experiencia fantástica: I recently attended Nueva Lengua Cartagena Spanish School for 3 weeks and it was by far the best 3 weeks ever. The school was amazing with wonderful and knowledgeable teachers like Paula and Carolina. Paula was incredibly patient and kind, while Carolina went above and beyond with her engaging and upbeat teaching style. I miss them both dearly! They made learning so much fun that we looked forward to attending classes each day. On top of that, the weekly activities organized by the school were incredibly fun and entertaining; I always looked forward to them and especially loved how they put up a clear schedule on the wall to inform us about them. I also had the opportunity to meet such wonderful people from all around the world that I still keep in contact with. Thanks to their excellent teaching methods and engaging activities, my Spanish has improved tremendously. I would highly recommend Nueva Lengua to anyone who wants to learn or better their Spanish while having a great time. Experiencia fantástica: I came to Nueva Lengua to learn medical Spanish for my future care. I have only been here for 4 days and my Spanish has gotten so much better! The way they teach her is so incredible! The teachers a very supportive and you can tell they love their jobs! Everyone I have met here has said that this is one of the top programs in the world and I definitely think that is true. This program brings in so many people from so many different countries and it’s so wonderful to be around them all. My first week I have Gaby and Mayra as my teachers and they a wonderful!! I’m so excited for the next 4 weeks here!

Experiencia fantástica: My boyfriend and I followed the intense Spanish course for two weeks at the start of our trip to Colombia. The experience was amazing! The communication with the office went smoothely and the activities after school are fun and a great way to practice your Spanish. Our teachers (Mayra and Carolina) were really professional and you can see they have a passion for teaching and the Spanish language. They always motivated us and made learning a new language so much fun. We have learned so much in two weeks! Would definitely recommend others to go there as well.
